It is being run in Conjunction with the 9 Years To Go Celebration event across the Gold Coast and South East Qld. The event is for People with Disabilities of all ages and abilities, their families, carers and is a FREE event on July 23, 2023.

Come along and learn how to push a racing wheelchair. Learn the skills and technique to master the sport and reach your goals.
We have chairs and equipment to suit children from 6 years, through to adults of all ages. Beginners through to Elite Athletes are welcome.

Ages
Able Body - U14*, U15, U16, U17, U18
*U14 is a two-year age group of 12 and 13 year olds (as at 31 Dec 2023)
Multi-Class - U15, U17, U20
Athletes can only compete in their correct age group and must be attending School.
Athletes represent their School. We strongly recommend the wearing of school sport gear.
There are trophies for Queensland Champion School overall, Championship Boys and Champion Girls School.
3 days of Elite Racing
This event will allow Australian athletes to compete against some of the world's best wheelchair racers on the world-renowned AIS track. The 2024 meet will be held over 3-days, maximising the opportunity for athletes to compete.
All welcome
The event is once again open to all wheelchair racing athletes and seated throwers, allowing developing and young athletes to compete and challenge themselves against strong competition. Frame Running will not be included for the 2024 SDU.

The 101st edition of the Championships will be the culmination of another impressive domestic season and also act as a key part of the nomination process for the Australian Olympic and Paralympic Teams travelling to the Paris 2024 Games.
The event is for age groups through to Open and Elite competitors, who have qualified through the selection process for their State or Territory.
